I'm Moving House (And Why You Should Come Along)
Yes, I'm Moving House (sort of)
You know that feeling when you finally outgrow something? Maybe it’s an old coat that served you well through a couple of hard winters, or maybe it’s a mindset you held onto until it just didn't fit your reality anymore.
That’s exactly where I found myself with the old blog.
When I started writing at missedallsigns.blogspot.com, honestly, I just needed a place to vent. I needed to get the thoughts out of my head before they drove me crazy. Blogger was great for that—simple, straightforward, like a digital notepad. But here’s the thing: this journey with prostate cancer isn't simple. It’s messy, it’s complicated, and it turns out, it’s a story that needs a bigger room.
So, I Built Something Better
I’ve officially moved operations to missedallsigns.ca.
Why the switch? Well, the old Blogger site was a bit like a long scroll of paper. If you wanted to find something I wrote three months ago about hormone therapy or navigating the mental fog, good luck scrolling until your thumb cramped. It worked, but it wasn't helpful.
And isn't that what we're all looking for? A little less friction?
I realized that if I really wanted to help other guys—and the families supporting them—I needed a platform that could handle more than just a daily diary entry. I’ve always tinkered a bit with web stuff (it keeps the brain sharp, right?), so I decided to build a proper home base.
What’s Different at the New Place?
The new site isn't just a fresh coat of paint; it’s a complete remodel.
You can actually find things. I’ve organized the content so you aren't digging through a pile of posts to find the info relevant to you. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or dealing with the heavy stuff later on, the path is clearer. You can use TAGS to filter the content as you will see when you come for a visit.
Better Resources. The layout allows me to share links, podcasts, videos, resources and other tools without them getting buried under next week's updates.
It’s easier on the eyes. Let's be real, staring at screens gets tiring. I focused on making the new site cleaner and easier to read, because nobody needs extra headaches.
I've spend so much time reacting to this disease, letting it dictate emotions, schedules and family life. Building this website felt like taking a little bit of control back. It was a project I felt that was needed; to centralize all my media posts and research content. The goal: To educate, connect and empower men, women and families that are dealing with Prostate Cancer in Canada.
Keeping It Real
Don't worry, the voice hasn't changed. It’s still me—still dealing with the missed signs, still trying to make sense of the nonsensical. I’m just doing it in a place where the furniture is nicer and the lights are brighter.
If you’re still visiting the old Blogspot link, you’re missing out on the full picture.
So, come on over to missedallsigns.ca. Bookmark it. Poke around. It’s a work in progress, much like all of us, but it’s a heck of a lot better than where we started.
See you there!
